"Back in 1933 a group of Kentucky Homemakers decided to
get together on a regular basis to share ideas and fellowship. The
dues would be a penny a week and most of the ladies provided this
from their egg money.
Some of their early projects were braiding rugs and canning
good things for the long winter months. Back then all ladies quilted
and the "Grandmother's Flower Garden" in the background is
pieced and ready for quilting. The beautiful cut-glass coal lamp is
a good example of the type used back then, and what home could do
without their tape measure?"
