BLOCK
ISLAND 40 1957
“SEAL” |
|
The Block Island 40 is a yacht for a lifetime. They are
considered one of the most successful fiberglass 40 footer
ever built. Designed by William H. Tripp, Jr. in 1957, the BI
40's have proved their versatility and have always done well
whether cruising or racing under a handicap system. Rigged as
a yawl they are easily handled by a small crew. They have been
called a thoroughbred because of their grace, elegance and
high-spiritedness. Bill Tripp understood that a good boat
could be raced and cruised by the same crew, and that crews
need some space. This classic has been refined for you to
enjoy for decades to come.
SEAL is hull #
1. Presently being completely refit in Rhode
Island. All new equipment. |

come a long way to her position in the yachting world.
