Grand old lady of the waterways... the Butch.
Well, she was our boat... an old steel motor vessel. Nothing fancy about her, unless you're a person who appreciates system redundancy and traveling about the waterways in a leisurely fashion. I grew up aboard her, and sure do miss the lifestyle. She's the sort of boat the old-timers used to cruise aboard, taking their time to really see the sights. I suppose that sort of thing is being by-passed in this era of cheap plastic speedboats, but that's a mistake....

Cruising -- real cruising -- isn't about arriving somewhere fast. It's about the journey, not the destination.
