Entitled "My Heart"
this is my adaptation of a Patricks Woods design...
My needlecase is fully lined and reversible. If you
look closely at the bottom right scan I'd like to
point out a few nifty ideas fellow stitchers shared
with me which were incorporated into the case.
- A gal in Saudi Arabia suggested I
include a date, so that is above my name on
the little gizmo part at the bottom left of
the scan. That also flaps up to reveal the
Kidlets names and a Smyrna Stitched heart. By
using the trim from the pink part and the
outermost edge I tied together this addition
with the rest of the needlecase. The 28 count
fabric is the same as that used on the
outside of the case, as seen in the top right
scan.
- The pink section parts to hold
bobbins of floss, my needle threader,
scissors, etc.
- On the left top corner is a magnet
sewn into the flap -- the
"hold-it-down" threads are in the
outline of a heart.
- To the right, at the bottom of your
scan is a thin pin cushion and needle rest.
Sometimes when I have a few colors going at
once, I like to have a place to park the
needles.
- I chose to replace the wording with
my own -- it says on the back (top right
scan) "Mom's Heart is Always Full of
Love" and I altered the beading too.
That's the beauty of patterns -- I love
taking an idea, expanding on it and truly creating my
own piece. Hopefully, some day another gal will see
my handiwork and say "Wow. Look at this!"
Other *touches* include a heart made of small roses
embroidery patch gizmo, and another on the flap that
folds down from the top when the ribbons close the
case.
I have had tons of fun
making my case, and hope you doing mind the blatant
brag.
