Il Vaticano eRoma / 100 Tavole a Color!
This book, tied together with string (it's supposed to be that way, though probably less frayed) contains 100 color plates from the Vatican in Rome.  It is written in four languages I believe... ponders.  Let me see if I can describe a plate and give you an idea as to what you will view.

Picture a picture in the center (in full color) measuring 5 by 8 inches. Now in each corner is wording.  Clockwise, beginning in the upper left corner, the first one says:

  • Basilica of St. Peter - Vatican Palace
  • Basilique de St. Pierre - Palais du Vatican
  • St. Peter Basiliki - Die Vatikanpalaste
  • Basilica de S. Pedro - Palacio del Vaticano

And, centered at the bottom of the page is: Basilica di S. Pietro - Palazzi Vaticani

The Fine Print: The cover is stiff paper and has faded a bit. There are nudges along the edges too. There is a tear in the cover 2 inches long -- on the back.  That does not effect the interior whatsoever.  All pages are fine, with no creasing nor did I see any writing within the 100+ pages of this book.

Anyway, I tried to date this book. The pictures that have cars show them as the old-time ones -- from the 50's and before... perhaps as far back as the 30's touring cars.  Anyway, later on in the book I spotted a plate showing the Olympics.  When I did an online research for that, I discovered the Olympics were held in Rome in 1960.  So, there you have it -- post 1960.  And yes, the stadiums looked new.

There's some other stuff written on the next to last page. It says "M.I. CA. S. (new line) 850.383 (new line) Roma"
And, one final thing... each plate is on it's own page. I mean, if you wished you could totally dismantle the book and have 100 separate color plates of the Vatican.
